England Schools Given Green Light to Debate Creationism| Christianpost.com

From Christianpost.com: "England Schools Given Green Light to Debate Creationism."
LONDON – New guidance for secondary schools in Hampshire gives teachers the green light to hold discussions in class on creationism and intelligent design alongside evolution.

The discussions form part of a joint syllabus for science and religious education (RE) and will be used for 11- to 14-year-olds, according to The Telegraph.

The decision was praised by academics and clergy who said it would encourage students to analyze the different viewpoints about the origins of man and the earth.

Florida schools to teach evolution as fact - not theory

Dear Friend,

The Florida Department of Education has drafted and is now proposing new state educational standards for teaching evolution as fact as opposed to theory. Our own Taylor County School Superintendent and School Board have publicly asked concerned citizens who oppose this to make their opinions known.

Attached to this post are letters to each member of the State Board of Education. All you have to do is print the letters, print and sign your name, add the date, and then mail. The letters are pre-addressed. The letters in TIFF format will print the best, but in case you wanted to edit and personalize your own letters, I have provided a second copy in DOC format also. (I cannot take credit for the letters. They were prepared by someone else.)

Please mail the letters ASAP. The board meets next on Friday, December 14, 2007.

Please forward this letter on to whomever you please.

Time Magazine debate between Atheist & Theistic Evolutionist

On November 5, 2006, Time Magazine published a great article entitled God vs. Science, featuring a debate on the existence of God.

The debate is between atheist Richard Dawkins, who has "the Charles Simonyi professorship for the public understanding of science at Oxford University", and Francis Collins, "Director of the National Human Genome Research Institute since 1993, [who heads] a multinational 2,400-scientist team that co-mapped the 3 billion biochemical letters of our genetic blueprint, a milestone that then President Bill Clinton honored in a 2000 White House ceremony."

Collins is a theistic evolutionist.

Richard Dawkins is also the author of a recent New York Times best seller, The God Delusion (Houghton Mifflin).

The debate is a great resource for anyone who wants to educate church members on the arguments for and against evolution, and the inconsistencies presented by a theistic evolutionist viewpoint.

Scientists versus God by Kent E. Heaton, Sr. (creation)

as originally published in The Trenton Bulletin:

One day a group of scientists got together and decided that man had come a long way and no longer needed God. So, they picked one scientist to go and tell Him that they were done with Him.

The scientist walked up to God and said, "God, we've decided that we no longer need you. We're to the point that we can clone people and do many miraculous things, so why don't you just go on and get lost."

God listened very patiently and kindly to the man and after the scientist was done talking, God said, "Very well, how about this, let's say we have a man making contest." To which the scientist replied, "OK, great!"

But God added, "Now, we're going to do this just like I did back in the old days with Adam."

The scientist said, "Sure, no problem", and bent down and grabbed himself a handful of dirt.

God just looked at him and said, "No, no, no. You go get your own dirt!"
