What is your favorite Bible translation & binding?

I have used the NKJV for 26 years. It is my preferred translation, though there are things I like about the ESV, HCSB, TNIV, and NASB as well.

Lately, however, I have been very disappointed with the binding quality of Thomas Nelson bibles.  Over the last year, I have purchased three NKJV bibles that were poorly constructed:  2 Nelson Study Bibles, and 1 giant print center column reference bible (I have had this last bible all of one week).  All three bibles have pages coming out as if they were never glued in at all ("clean as a whistle").  The pages are not tearing, ripping or fraying.  They are simply coming out.

Because Thomas Nelson is nearly the exclusive publisher of the NKJV bibles, these problems have caused me to consider a different translation in order to find a better constructed bible.

What is your favorite bible, and why?

I think I can help!!!

Get one from Cambridge Bible publishers: they also have a publishing arm here in the U.S.; their Bibles are smythe-sewn bindings and top-notch quality: so they're more expensive, but they're editions that with much care can last and last! : )
